Founder, Creative Director and Event Manager

Ric Kirby, Shocking Orange, is a "well-seasoned" creative director and production/event manager. In his twenty years in this industry, he has served as the creative director and on-line producer for industrial shows and meetings designed for a long and well-positioned client list of fortune five hundred companies.

In 2006, twelve years after having served as a line producer and the venue production manager for Unity ‘94, Ric was honored to be selected and served as the lead producer for the Opening Ceremony of Gay Games VII held in Chicago’s legendary Soldier Field. A heralded international event employing a production team of over 230 professionals, engaging 1400 performers, featuring the participation by more than 12,000 athletes from over 80 countries before an audience of over 40,000 spectators. As the lead producer, he was responsible for all aspects of this landmark event including: production personnel selection & management, talent selection, negotiation &, contracting, budget and scheduling development & management, primary interface with all city, state and federal governmental agencies, design & execution of all creative as well as all technical & logistical aspects of the production.
 
Early in 2006, Ric served as the Executive Producer for the Inauguration of Timothy M. Kane as the 70th Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 1997, he was one of fifteen event producers selected to produce the Inaugural Ceremonies for the Inauguration of William J. Clinton as the 42nd President of the United States of America and in 2001 served as a logistical producer for the Inauguration of George W. Bush as the 43rd President of the United States of America. In 1996, he conceived, designed and project managed the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Founding of The United Nations.

In 1994, he served as a line producer and the venue production manager for Unity '94, the Gay Games in New York City, where he was responsible for security logistics and the site venue management for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies attended by 50,000 spectators and 12,500 athletes and participants.

He has had the pleasure and honor of producing the speaking appearances of wide and distinguished list of prominent personalities.  He has produced and staged concert performances by internationally renowned and celebrated artists. As a company, operations and stage manager, Ric has worked extensively in theater with the Elizabeth Theater Group, PACE Theatrical, Iron Mountain Productions and M Square Entertainment.
